Beth Israel Center Membership Interest Form

Beth Israel Center Membership Interest Form
Welcome! We're glad you've found us.

At Beth Israel Center, membership is all about the relationship you want to have with the congregation. We thrive because members are inspired to show up for one another - to shape and share in our mission.

Members may be individuals, couples (married or not), or families, and we warmly welcome interfaith households. Any household in which at least one person is Jewish or actively pursuing conversion with our Rabbi is welcome as a member household.

Members contribute to the kahal (congregation) in many different ways.
  • All members are expected to make an annual financial contribution. The amount is your decision. We ask that you make a meaningful contribution. Typically, members contribute at least 2-3% of their household income. We depend on member contributions to support all synagogue operations and programming.
  • Time, talent, and a helping hand. People build this special kahal by showing up and supporting one another and what we do together. Beth Israel Center volunteers serve a sacred and essential role in the life of our synagogue.
If you're interested in joining, please complete and submit this form. We will then contact you for next steps. The information you share will be used to help us help you find your place at Beth Israel Center.

Tell us more about yourself and your family:

All mail will be sent to your residence, unless otherwise requested.

Your name, email address, home address, and home phone number will be listed in
the Membership Directory by default, unless requested otherwise. Once your Membership Account is setup you will be able to modify your directory listing by logging into your account at any time.

Opportunities to Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to get to know other members and help build our community. We rely on volunteers both inside and outside of the sanctuary.

Adult 2 Volunteer Interests:

  Children

         Yahrzeit Information

If you would like to receive reminders of more than four yahrzeits, you can add information to your member account once it has been established, or you may contact the office and we will be glad to add additional records for you.

    More About You - Optional

    Your Financial Contribution

Tzedakah means "justice." Like all forms of tzedakah, your contribution should feel meaningful. Many members contribute 2-3% of their household income, and more, as able - but finances are never a barrier to membership or participation.

Enter the amount you intend to contribute in your first year of membership. Our fiscal/membership year begins September 1. Your annual contribution can be payable over the course of the fiscal year and must be fully paid by August 31. If you are joining mid-year, your contribution can be prorated.
If you have any questions about financial obligations of membership, select "contact me/us," and we will contact you to arrange a conversation that respects your privacy.
Many of our members have generously agreed to make 3-year commitments to their contributions. This is a great benefit to Beth Israel Center as it allows us to align our budgeting with our contributions. Please indicate if you would like to make a 2-year or 3-year commitment to Beth Israel Center.

Commitments for future years will be applied to your account at the beginning of the corresponding fiscal year.
If you have any questions about financial details of membership, please reach out to our Interim Executive Director, Steve Sheiffer, at executivedirector@bethisraelcenter.org and we will be happy to speak with you on a confidential basis.
